Welcome to another 5Things on Friday where we share 5 very cool mappy/Geeky tech tips suggested and found by our team and colleagues. This week we share 5 geo tips including:an online energy atlas, an opportunity to build the Living Atlas with campus data, Apple and AR, and some ArcGIS online Training. Contribute Campus Data to the Living Atlas
Esri wants you to help build the living atlas, particularly on the campus. Faculty, students, and facility managers will all have access to the same online basemaps, derived from and maintained with the authoritative content provided by the educational institution’s data stewards. For the facilities, this means online basemaps can then be used to manage your facilities, highlight student life, activities and events.
Going Pro, Training – Essentials for ArcMap Users
Are you an experienced ArcMap user preparing to migrate to ArcGIS Pro? There are many things to love about ArcGIS Pro, and this seminar will help you be productive right away. You will learn essential ArcGIS Pro terminology and get familiar with the ribbon-based user interface. The presenters highlight key differences in mapping, editing, and geoprocessing workflows and demonstrate new and streamlined capabilities
Yes indeed, AR is hot, and indeed likely the future for many industries, including data visualization and GIS. At this year’s WWDC, Apple showed off a new set of APIs that will allow developers to bring even more augmented reality apps to iOS devices. ARKit has support for Unity, Unreal Engine and Scenekit and will be coming to iPad and iPhone. Developers are invited to check out https://developer.apple.com/arkit/
ArcGIS 10.5 Are you There Yet?
