GIS and GeoTech conferences. There’s so many to pick and choose from, some are huge, some are small and personal, some are virtual, others require you to travel a great distance. Selecting which events to attend can be a challenge indeed but there are some great choices out there. The following are just a few of the coming GIS/Geo events of interest that you might wish to consider attending as we head into 2018.

ODSC – Open Data science Conference 2017 – Sorry but this event is running this week, ODSC West is THE event focused on data science. About the event… ODSC West 2017 is one of the largest applied data science conferences in the world. Our speakers include some of the core contributors to many open source tools, libraries, and languages. Attend ODSC West 2017 and learn the latest AI & data science topics, tools, and languages from some of the best and brightest minds in the field. DJI Airworks 2017 – The 2nd Annual DJI AirWorks Conference will focus on applied drone solutions for the commercial industry’s most challenging obstacles of today. Geography2050 is a multi-year strategic dialog about the vital trends that will reshape the geography of our nation and our planet by 2050. In 2017, our Geography2050 Symposium will focus on the Future of Mobility. Esri Geodesign Summit – You’ll hear from your colleagues and GIS experts about smart planning technology and geodesign techniques that will help you evaluate planning proposals against possible outcomes, engage diverse voices, and communicate effectively across departments and with the public. Jan 23-25, 2018, Redlands, CA
ILMF 2018 – In 2018, ILMF and the ASPRS Annual Conference will take place together for the first time, giving attendees access to more geospatial solutions, technical education, and networking than ever before! The combined event will feature a single exhibit hall and inclusive social activities. The events will maintain their unique technical programs, including ILMF product previews and ASPRS workshops, awards, and committee meetings. Feb 5-7, 2018, Denver, CO.
Esri Partner Conference (EPC) & DevSummit – Running back-to-back in Palm Springs, these events bring Esri Business partner companies and their developer teams to Palm Springs for some fine partner opportunities and education. There’s no better place to connect with fellow partners and Esri technology and market experts. EPC is March 3-5 with DevSummit continuing from the 6-9. Note, DevSummit also has an event in D.C a couple of weeks later, running in D.C March 22.

Esri Federal GIS Conference – A must for GIS Consultants and contractors who have a focus on providing services and solutions to federal clients. 2018 MidAmerica GIS Consortium Symposium – 2018 marks MAGIC’s 30th Anniversary! The MidAmerica GIS Consortium is a network of dedicated leaders in the field of mapmaking, location services, and data development. FOSS4G North America – FOSS4G NA is all about community. Contributors, adopters, users, extenders, teachers, service providers, consumers and business and research organizations gather to share their expertise and learn from each other. This year’s FOSS4G NA conference is yet another collaborative effort involving OSGeo and LocationTech.
