PRESS RELEASE
GULFPORT, Miss. – Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026 – GEO Jobe, an AI and GIS products and services provider based in Gulfport, Miss., is pleased to announce the promotion of Roy Carrell to director of GIS Services. In his new role, Carrell will lead the department’s operations, team development, client relationships, advancing GEO Jobe’s GIS and AI consulting capabilities.
In his new role, Carrell will help clients strengthen their GIS operations and identify practical opportunities to apply artificial intelligence to classic GIS consulting. His focus will be on connecting these capabilities to each client’s business needs, from improving everyday workflows to making geospatial information more useful across an organization.
Carrell joined GEO Jobe in 2023 as a support technician, developing a stronger foundation in Esri technologies, GIS troubleshooting, and geospatial problem-solving. He subsequently served as a GIS innovations engineer, GIS solutions engineer, and deputy director of GIS services. He has worked with clients across a variety of industries to turn complex data and business challenges into practical GIS solutions.
“During his time at GEO Jobe, Roy has contributed to several of our teams and excelled in each role. I look forward to seeing what his next chapter with GEO Jobe brings as he empowers our clients within the new technology landscape we find ourselves in,” said Danny Menikheim, chief operating officer at GEO Jobe. “Our customers are exploring the complexities of enterprise and cloud GIS while evaluating what AI means for their organizations. Roy will play an integral role in helping them navigate these changes and succeed.”
While his primary focus will be furthering GEO Jobe’s AI and MCP stance, Carrell’s other priorities include improving internal workflows, expanding the department’s capabilities, and introducing technologies that help the team deliver more efficient, scalable solutions. His experience spans technical GIS work, application development, client relationships, and strategic problem-solving.
“I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to take on this next chapter with GEO Jobe. Having started in a technical support role and grown through several positions within the company, I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand just how talented our team is and how much potential we have to continue growing,” Carrell said. “One of my biggest goals is to continue pushing the boundaries of what GIS Services can provide. GIS is evolving rapidly, and I believe there are tremendous opportunities to combine traditional geospatial technologies with modern development frameworks, automation, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.”
Carrell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from The University of Southern Mississippi. He lives on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where he enjoys fishing, exercising, following sports and participating in church activities.
