GEO Jobe has been serving our clients and partners since 1999 but you may not be too familiar with the faces behind the company. We thought it would be fun to introduce some of the talented crew behind the company to our readers, users, customers, and partners. We’ve shared a short Q & A with our Solution engineer, Nick to help get to know him a little better and learn a little more about our team.
Q: What is your role at GEO Jobe?
A: I am a Solution Engineer
Q: What is your Educational background?
A: I graduated with my B.S. in Geography from Western Kentucky University with a focus on Meteorology, GIS minor and minor in Broadcast Communication
Q: What were you up to before life at GEO Jobe?
A: I worked at Amec Earth & Environmental as the DFIRM GIS Lead several counties updating/modernizing their Flood Maps.
Q: What attracted you to joining the GEO Jobe team?
A: To be able to work at a place that was truly focused on GIS.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
A: These days it’s spending time with my wife and 20 month old son. We enjoy getting outside and taking trips to new places to explore.
Q: Do you have a favorite newspaper, blog?
A: I really enjoy the blog site “I F&cking Love Science”. http://www.iflscience.com/
Q: What kind of technology do you prefer and why? (Mac or PC, iOS or Android, and other cool tech)
A: In the smartphone era I’ve always had an iPhone, but I’ve always owned a PC. The new VR stuff out right now is really cool.
Q: If you weren’t in the career that you are right now what could you imagine yourself doing?
A: I probably would have further pursued being a weather station Meteorologist.
Q: Is there one or two things on your desk or in your office that you absolutely couldn’t do without?
A: My coffee cup!
