Q: What is your job at GEO Jobe, and what does it entail?
A: I am an executive assistant at GEO Jobe and have the great pleasure of assisting with the administrative needs of our C-suite executives.
Q: What has your career path at GEO Jobe looked like and what attracted you to join the team?
A: I first heard about GEO Jobe in the summer of 2023. I knew I wanted to find out more after hearing GEO Jobe lauded as the best company to work for with a great work culture. GEO Jobe is filled with good people that are a pleasure to work alongside. I’m very fortunate to have been offered a position that exercises my professional expertise and regularly requires me to grow in more skills. I started in August of 2023 and plan to stay forever!
Q: What jobs and experiences have led you to your current role?
A: I have a mixed bag of professional experience! I was a barista, a licensed home builder, a banker, and a paralegal. What’s interesting about my current position is that I get to use skills from all of these previous jobs.

Q: What particular skills or talents are most essential to be effective in your job?
A: Excellent listening and communication, and also managing calendars. My biggest talent is being willing and able to improve on existing skills and learn new ones.
Q: Any advice for recent graduates entering the job market and aspiring to a similar role?
A: Learn to love talking to people. Be kind and empathetic. Everyone has something going on, and this role means taking that into consideration while fostering connections.
Q: What technologies and strategies do you use in your day-to-day work that are key to success?
A: If you’re not already, start using Notion. It is the best resource in conjunction with my calendar that keeps me on task. It is perfect for planning, to-do lists, brainstorming, note-taking, and anything else you can think of.
Q: What would you like to learn more about or incorporate into your daily work?
A: I am presently learning about habit formation and am using that information to better the efficiency in completing my daily work.
Q: On a more personal side, do you have a favorite newspaper, magazine, blog, or sources of inspiration?
A: There are a few channels on YouTube that I follow for inspiration. Fairyland Cottage is a great introduction to minimalism and slow living; Jim Kwik for unlocking your brain’s potential; Pick Up Limes and J. Kenji Lopez-Alt for clear instructions on preparing good food; and Yoga with Adrienne for practicing yoga. Overall, I look for joy in the mundane.
Q: What kind of technology do you prefer and why?
A: PC and Android. I find the UI to be more user friendly.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
A: Outside of the office, you can find me working on home improvement projects, watching my birdfeeders, playing Warcraft with my hubby and friends, watching anime with family, and playing Werewolf: the Apocalypse. I also like knitting and crochet, and hanging out with my three cats. Typical old lady activities!
