GEO Jobe GIS, UAV, and Geospatial Events and Conference Participation, Fall 2018

With the arrival of fall, we welcome the start of another busy conference season. GEO Jobe is pleased to be attending a number of events in the near future. Read on as we share some events of interests where you can meet with us. Of course, we look forward to connecting with many of our colleagues, clients, and users.

ACECTN, September 16-18

The annual meeting of the American Council of Engineering Companies in Tennessee took place September 16-18 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, TN.  The Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers, the Tennessee Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the TN Structural Engineers Association. Neill Jobe, GEO Jobe CEO, and Jeff Lawrence, Business Development Lead with GEO Jobe UAV Services team attended the event again this year. While at the conference, they shared details of recent UAV projects and success stories with their peers. Our UAV Services team has been very active this year, completing a number of projects for construction projects, transportation design and planning, and assisting engineers with aerial data capture. Additionally, they’ve also done the analysis for many projects, including highway design and modeling, volume calculations, site assessments, and 3D modeling. The Mississippi Geospatial Conference, October 11-12

As in past years, GEO Jobe will be exhibiting at the Mississippi Geospatial conference this year. Furthermore, several GEO Jobe team members will be presenting:
  • GEO Jobe COO, David Hansen, will be presenting a talk titled “Professional Adaptation to Change in Geospatial Technology”
  • GEO Jobe Jr. Application Developer, Courtney Kirkham will provide a talk titled, “Do Your Homework: Techniques and Resources for Self Learning”
  • A session titled, “Using Esri Calcite to Improve User Interface Development” will be presented by our Sr. Front-End Engineer, Eric Goforth.
This is a great chance to meet our Gulfport, MS team, since the entire office will be attending. The crew will be glad to meet with you to discuss our popular ArcGIS Online solutions, including the Admin Tools suite of productivity tools for administrators (available free, pro and for Portal). the GEOPowered Cloud solution for the enterprise, custom mapping solutions, as well as our UAV services to support clients from these industry verticals and others (construction, agriculture, mining and more). UNAGAA (University of North Alabama Geography Alumni Association), October 11-12

Our CEO and UNA alum, Neill Jobe always enjoys returning to the campus to connect with the faculty, other alum, recent grads and the latest crop of geographers. Even more excitement awaits, as Joseph Kerski,  Education Manager and Geographer at Esri, will be this year’s keynote speaker at the UNAGAA conference. It is always a treat to hear Joseph proselytize geography and the Science of Where! The event takes place at the University of North Alabama, October 11-12, 2018. This two-day event will coincide with UNA’s homecoming week festivities, where UNA Geography alumni will recognize and present awards to students in various categories. 2018 Memphis Area Geographic Council (MAGIC) Conference, November 1-2

MAGIC is always a big event for GEO Jobe and this year is no exception! This is a “must” attend conference for many companies in and around  Tennessee. We will be there to connect with a number of our application users and enterprise customers. This year is even more special for GEO Jobe as our COO, David Hansen will be the keynote speaker.

2018 GeoConX, November 5-8

Esri GeoConX is an industry-leading event where professionals from Esri’s Electric, Gas, and Telecommunications communities converge. It is a great opportunity to network, collaborate, and learn. This year GEO Jobe will be exhibiting at GeoConX, taking place Dallas, TX. While at the conference, we’ll be available to answer questions, provide product demos, and discuss custom solutions built on the ArcGIS platform. The team will be sharing and demonstrating the company’s solutions including the award-winning Admin Tools for ArcGIS Online (Free, Pro, and for Portal), our GEOPowered Cloud Managed Services, and other new solutions. David Hansen, GEO Jobe COO, will be on hand to discuss GEO Jobe software development, custom implementations, enterprise solutions, cloud hosting, managed services options, and the security.manager ArcGIS Edition solution. Additionally, attendees interested in aerial mapping and UAV data collection solutions will have a chance to discuss solutions that our UAV Services team can provide. 2019 Events

Finally, GEO Jobe is planning for the 2019 Esri Business Partner Conference (EPC), DevSummit, and International Esri User Conference. If you don’t have a chance to catch up with us at a regional event this fall, you’ll be able to meet with us at these events. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
